School Council

Blanchard's School Council is a representative committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, and community members. The group enhances school wide decision-making by providing diverse and complementary perspectives on the school's goals and plans.

Blanchard's School Council meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:00pm in the Blanchard Library. All meetings are open to the public.

Massachusetts General Law outlines four major areas of responsibility for School Councils:

  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards

  2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school

  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget

  4. Formulating a school improvement plan

If you would like to become involved in Blanchard Memorial's School Council, please contact Principal Dana Labb.
