Blanchard Memorial School employs a balanced literacy approach to reading and writing. Students engage in all domains of literacy: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Teachers use a range of instructional strategies to instill a lifelong love of reading and writing, which include: guided reading groups, individual goal setting and conferences, reader's theatre, book clubs, phonics instruction, and word study.
