Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Blanchard Memorial School!  I am delighted to be entering my fifth year as Principal at Blanchard!  It has been an honor to serve the students, families, and staff that create a warm and welcoming school community.

I hope you have been enjoying summer and making plenty of room for downtime, family time and play time.  I have enjoyed running, swimming, gardening, camping, and hiking. It has been quiet at school but we are getting a lot done here as well!

The core value that guides my work as a leader is to actively pursue a dynamic and balanced lifelong education. In practice, this means being open, honest and transparent in my communications, being collegial and respectful to all individuals, and being an advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves.

Each year we develop a theme at Blanchard that we feel captures the essence of our goals for the upcoming school year.  This year that theme is centered on the word cultivate.  Cultivate=to develop.  This word has arisen throughout the summer, both in our district's work around equity and in my work at home gardening with my kids.  I have been humbled by two voles as I cultivate the art of growing vegetables!

All of us educators, families, students are a work in progress, and our learning is never finished. It is important to remember to support one other and take care of ourselves.  Intentional decisions, both big and small, are vital in helping to celebrate, support, and maintain healthy and vibrant relationships.

Cultivate kindness
Cultivate culture
Cultivate climate
